Energy Star 230 CFM Inline Exhaust Fan with 6" Round Ducting

The Inline Exhaust Fan Kits provide all of the components needed for an ENERGY STAR® Qualified installation except the ducting.

  • Utilizes a 6" exhaust duct AIF power unit and includes two 6" round room inlet grills and collars. Also includes Y transition for multiple inlet duct connections.

Excellent Fan I just got done installing the inline fan in both the upper and lower bath in my duplex. It is amazingly quiet and powerful. My tennant says it does an excellent job of keeping the steam out and doesn't annoy her by being too loud. I highly reccomend it to any one who needs a powerful yet quiet fan. October 29, 2009

I'm thinking about using a 4 inch to 6 inch transition piece so I can install a 6 inch fan where I used to have a 4 inch fan. Any problem with that?

A. It's OK to go from small to big. Going from big to small is where you'll run into a whole bunch of issues. Increasing the diameter of the vent is a great way to lower the noise and/or increase the flow.

Could this vent two bathrooms, one in the basement and one on the main floor, with just this?

A. The Air King AIK26Y is only available with one speed.

Can I use this fan to move air from a room with a fireplace to rooms that need heat (2) rooms 15-20 feet away?

A. The answer to your question is YES. You can use this in line fan kit as a means of heat transfer. You can wire it to a switch or in line with a thermostat, to control temperature better.

Why can't this unit vent two bathrooms? Is there one that can?

A. The Air King AIK26Y kit can vent two bathrooms. It depends on the size of the bathrooms and the amount of steam/moisture that will be present.
